I absolutely loved doing the 30 Day Art Journal Challenge with CreativeBug and Get Messy Art Journal! In fact, I’m super sad that it’s over for me! But you can take it any time by clicking here. In the meantime, I thought I’d share my journal pages from days 11-30 (you can see days 1-10 here).

Days 11-30 of the 30 Day Art Journal Challenge
Day 11:
I used a combination of collage and drawing for this page, which was supposed to describe who we are. I’m a lot of things, but I’m definitely a creative explorer!
Day 12:
Day 13:
My handwriting / lettering is definitely a work in progress! 🙂 (Just like me!)
Day 14:
This one wasn’t one of my favorites. But hey, they can’t all be winners, right? Especially when you’re pushing yourself and trying new things. That’s the “challenge” part of a 30 day art journal challenge! 😉
Day 15:
Sometimes you just have to keep it simple. (Also pictured are the Zig Real Color Brush pens I used for this art journal page example, as well as my trusted Tombow Xtreme.)
Day 16:
I used this Fiskars Banner Year punch to create the triangles from paint chips (and an old painting), as well as the Kelly Creates brush pens (pictured) for the hand-lettering on this page.
Day 17:
I used some vintage ephemera and some old painted pages for this art journal collage.
Day 18:
The combination of vintage ephemera, my botanical line drawings, and floral collage made this art journal page go semi-viral! (Normally I get maybe 50-100 “likes” on my Instagram posts, but this one has over 700 likes on Instagram!)
Day 19:
Still working on my hand-lettering as you can see. I used my Pentel Water Brush filled with Yasutomo Sumi Ink.
Day 20:
Two of my favorite things to paint with watercolor: women and botanicals!
Day 21:
I kind of “cheated” and combined the first 15 days of the Daily Painting Challenge with August Wren and this 30 Day Art Journal Challenge with Get Messy for day 21! 😬☺️
Day 22:
I’ve been holding onto those vintage photos of old (PINK!!) phones for so long… I decided day 22 of the art journal challenge was the right time to use one, at least! 😉
Day 23:
This was my take on the day’s prompt. I listed a bunch of my favorite artists and created something that represented them and/or their art. Included are: Frida Kahlo, Amedeo Modigliani, Helen Frankenthaler, Louise Bourgeois, Henri Matisse, Diane Arbus, Marina Abramovic, Nancy Mungcal, Lisa Congdon, Bonnie Christine, The Jealous Curator, Kara Walker, Francis Alys, Kathe Kolwtiz, Mother Nature and YOU!
This was honestly my favorite from the entire art journal challenge! It was fun to think about my favorite artists and influences, and how to represent them.
Day 24:
I kept it minimal for this art journal prompt.
Day 25:
I used vintage ephemera and some scraps from an old art project for day 25. I really love how this collage turned out. It’s definitely in my top 5 from the entire 30 days.
Day 26:
That dog floating in the middle just makes me laugh every time I see this spread! But I used this prompt almost like a vision board, and I’m ready to be a fur mom again!
Day 27:
This was a cover-up prompt, and even though I like aspects of it, I think it needs another layer of cover-up! 😂
Day 28:
That floral retangle in the middle actually opens and reveals my (favorite) answer.
Day 29:
This one was fun, too! I used more vintage ephemera, an old photo I took in 2004, some cut up paintings I didn’t really like, and more.
Day 30:
These doodles on the last day were so fun and relaxing. That’s one of the things I love about art journaling: I can just have complete creative fun, without worrying about judgment or whether or not it’s any “good”…. because if it makes me happy to be making it, it’s already good, no matter how it looks. 😊

Any who I am also excited to see the ladies from Get Messy Over there too cuz I loved but couldn’t afford to sub to their original website before. Thanks for pointing this class out I don’t know how I missed it. Thanks for sharing about Creative Bug as well. I cannot wait til they come out with an app. Thanks for all you share im so super inspired by all that you do.
