About a week ago I posted a video about how to create an image transfer on a gelli plate using colored charcoal pencils, and I realized something: not only did I come up with one image for my art journal, but three!
Here is the original video of the image transfer:
With that gelli plate image transfer, I created this art journal page:

Only, I didn’t want to stop there! So I tried to transfer the printed photo I used as a reference. Only…. it didn’t work. 🙁
Here’s a quick video of that flop:
And here is a pic of that art journal page (the second of the three!)

She might be my favorite of the three pages? It’s hard to say, because I Love how they all turned out.
What was left was the charcoal drawing I did to make the initial transfer. Now, putting a charcoal drawing (colored or otherwise) in your art journal can be very messy. So I used a spray fixative and waited for it to dry before make the third and final page with this one image:

This is just one of the many things I love about art journaling: you can take one idea and use it in many different ways. (Another thing I love about art journaling is there is very little waste!)
So tell me: would you try any of these art journal ideas? (And if you do, please tag me on any/all the socials!)
