Don’t you just love looking at other people’s art journals? I’ll admit, previously most of my art journal inspiration came from the people I follow on Instagram, and a little bit on Pinterest. But recently I’ve been watching art journal flip-through videos on YouTube and I’m kind of obsessed! I love seeing how other people fill their art journals, and I figured you would, too.
So to spark your own art journal inspiration, I created this round-up of art journal flip through videos and I think you’ll love them…
Ghostly_T is one of my favorite people to follow on Instagram, so I guess it should be no surprise that I got some serious art journal inspiration from their video flip-throughs, too. The journaling style is somewhat minimal, yet the pages still feel full and complete. See what I mean:
MegJournals is another favorite (both on Instagram and YouTube). In this video, I got inspired by the way she uses page tabs (I’ve never seen them attached in that way!) I feel like she does a really great job of combining vintage and new in her art journals. She does a lot of Junk Journaling, so if that is your jam, you should definitely check her out:
In her art journals, Sophia uses a combination of found imagery and lovely paintings and drawings. Plus the music she puts her flip-throughs to is so enchanting! It’s definitely fun to watch, as I think you’ll agree:
While Brittany McCowan doesn’t always vlog about art journaling, I enjoyed this flip through of her travel journal so much, I thought I’d share it with you, too.
In this video, Jeka Packing’s art journal is filled with some of my own favorite things: collage, drawings, inspiring quotes and words, and so much more! (You can also follow Jeka on Instagram). See for yourself:
So in just this handful of examples, you can see that art journalers have a variety of approaches and techniques, and this is just the tip of the iceberg! Some people have a distinct style, while others (like me!) are kind of all over the place. I think that’s one of the best things about art journaling: you can creatively explore while finding your own personal style in the process.
