Do you ever make something that might be considere Do you ever make something that might be considered “ugly” but you find it more beautiful than something you tried to make “pretty”? Yeah, that happened to me today. I love this little ugly spread! 😍In fact, I can’t stop thinking about it!
I took another try at day 2’s class with @jeanne I took another try at day 2’s class with @jeanneoliver and didn’t use a photo reference this time. I kind of combined it with @shelleyklammer’s automatic drawing class instead, and I love the result! The charcoal definitely got smudgy, but it’s just my art journal and I don’t try to get things “just right” in there! (See my actual automatic drawings in my stories today, or in my highlights under SB Revival 2021.)
I spent part of this morning listening to upliftin I spent part of this morning listening to uplifting podcasts and making these papers I’ll eventually use in my collages. Some of these are just first and second layers (I’ll go back and add more on top later), but some are ready to be used! (I used that plate for some toast, but when I was done it was basically perfectly clean. I couldn’t throw it away! So I repurposed it to hold some of my papers while they dried. I just can’t waste something like that! ... which is also probably why I have several bits of small paper to use in collages because I can’t throw them away! 🤣)
Are you doing the #sketchbookrevival this year? Th Are you doing the #sketchbookrevival this year? This is my first go at it, and besides making my own sketchbook/art journal to work in (which is my favorite that I’ve made so far!!) I’m taking it pretty casually. I’m watching almost all of the videos, but I’ll just do the projects that a) call to me and b) I have the supplies on hand for. But this spread is from @jeanneoliver’s session, and it’s my favorite session so far! Thanks @karenabend for putting this together!! It’s lovely!!
I’ve been working in my latest #alteredbook here I’ve been working in my latest #alteredbook here and there. It’s a vintage French poetry book, so some black out poetry seemed appropriate! It reads:

Et le périlleux se trouble parmi Les eaux.
The pause for breath
Liaison is avoided, except in the musical quality of verse
It is boundary the end of a line
The romantic flexibility of French verse
Moveable, aloud, an important part
After the verse understood
The individual will know at once
I’m not perfect at fussy cutting, but I find it I’m not perfect at fussy cutting, but I find it kind of meditative. #🍄 What about you? Love fussy cutting? Or hate it/don’t bother?
Instead of the mic, she dropped the cake.

I love collecting little things. No category is le I love collecting little things. No category is left out, as long as they’re tiny! But I especially love these antique paint pigment bottles! I found them at an estate sale and just had to bring them home. (Oh yeah, and this is my latest collage in my pink art journal!)
I feel like this page needs more... but I’m not I feel like this page needs more... but I’m not quite sure what?! So I’m moving on to a new page. Maybe I’ll revisit it later, maybe I’ll just leave it?! It’s all good, either way. 😉
