Digital to Analog in my Art Journal

I will admit, as much as I love art journaling, I also love making art on my iPad Pro! It’s so fun, and it’s easy to travel with and/or make art on the go because there’s no bag of art journal supplies and a journal to carry around. (Plus there’s no clean up or mess afterwards!) But I’ll add, I like some of the things I make on my iPad and I was trying figure out how to go from digital to analog in my art journal.

Spoiler Alert: It’s easy!

A simple way to Go From Digital to Analog in Your Art Journal! #joyfulartjournaling

Recently I took this super fun class on Skilllshare called “Fun With Faces: Create a Stylised Digital Portrait” (and it really was fun!) I started with one, but I just couldn’t stop making these girls! Here are my short process videos:

This first portrait from the class.
The second girl got glasses!
I added a background in this last one!

All of them were so fun to create! I’m sure it helped that the class instructor was awesome! She really took the time to help you learn how to draw different features, where to get inspiration, and how to use the app to create them. (In this case we used the Procreate App, which is one of my favorites for drawing on the iPad Pro.)

By the way, if you use this link, you can take Fun With Faces: Create a Stylised Digital Portrait plus 17,000+ more FREE for 2 months! (New students only.)

So once each girl was complete…

I simply decided to print them out on label paper and cut them to the size of my journal, and simply stick them in! And, full disclosure here, I used these two to cover up pages in my art journal I wasn’t really happy with:

And with this one I just added it next to some fun eyes I drew for the 100 day project, loosely inspired by Lisa Congdon.

And really, that’s it! Super simple, and I love the way they came out!
